Hey, I get it. You can not always throw a six and the same rule applies to AI chatbots. If you belong to one of the following categories then steer clear of Girlfriend GPT.
Children and Young Teens
Even though Girlfriend GPT has an NSFW filter (which allows you to make it safe for work) I wouldnβt recommend it to anyone under 18.
In fact, this is not allowed and is against their guidelines. AI characters on GirlfriendGPT are created by users so the more popular the app becomes, the more characters and the harder it gets to monitor everything.
Thereβs a good chance youβll find an NSFW AI character even with the SFW toggle on. Thereβs a good reason Character.ai doesnβt allow NSFW β they know itβs going to be impossible to monitor!

After spending 40+ hours using Girlfriend GPT, I got a pretty good understanding of whatβs a yes and whatβs a pass when it comes to features. In the next section of this GPTGirlfriend review, I am breaking everything down in the 6 performance factors we use to rate an AI girlfriend app.

Character Diversity
Letβs start with one of the most important features of every AI chatbot - the diversity of the AI characters.Β
Quick recap: I am not just looking for a massive library, but diversity within each AI character. To put it short, there needs to be something for everyone. SFW, NSFW, anime, characters based on famous people - that kind of stuff.
NSFW AI Characters
The first thing I noticed is that the homepage shows us this sexy headline that says they have 25.000+ NSFW characters.
Itβs pretty epic that GirlfriendGPT has that many AI girlfriends since they didnβt launch that long ago. For reference, SpicyChat AI is one of THE most popular AI sexbots and only has 153.000 AI girlfriends.
I know 6x sounds like a monumental difference but since SpicyChat is 9x as popular as Girlfriend GPT the gap isnβt that large.
Anyways, GirlfriendGPT has tons of different epic AI girlfriends across various categories like

Best thing of all? Most of the NSFW AI companions are free to roleplay with! Only a few have the Deluxe tag - meaning youβll need to subscribe to one of their paid plans to enjoy talking to him/her.
SFW AI Characters
Just like most adult chatbots, Girlfriend GPT has an NSFW toggle. In other words, you can quickly switch between safe for work and not safe for work - handy for when your boss is walking by!
I quickly noticed that GirlfriendGPT mostly focuses on the NSFW AI companions since they havenβt got that many SFW AI characters.
But still, I do think they have a broad selection of cool AI generated characters . These are some of the SFW AI companions that stood out to me. ππ»
Customization
Just like most AI chatbots, Girlfriend GPT offers vast customization options. They use prompting fields to allow you to type in how you want your AI companions to behave and talk. I did notice that GirlfriendGPT took it a step further then some of it's competitors by adding a Example chat field.
Basically, you can copy and paste a conversation between two people and the AI companion will mimic the tone of voice and writing style. It definitely makes the customization more beginner-friendly, allowing users to steal borrow an example conversation from an AI companion they really like and replicate it.

To test the conversational skills of an AI chatbot I mainly look at two things.

Roleplay
To test the roleplay, I am going to talk to an AI character called Yandere classmate.
You can also generate pictures in chat but more on that later.
During lunch break, you go to your usual spot. A secluded area in the courtyard only to find Naomi sitting with her lunch box.
Whatβs cool about GirlfriendGPT is that whenever you run out of things to say (like I just did) you can hit the Continue button and the AI will just move the conversation forward.
In terms of roleplay, I do think that GirlfriendGPT does a phenomenal job. Itβs ridiculously easy to start since the conversation immediately kicks off in a roleplay scenario.Β
Another thing I noticed is that they made it very easy for us to regenerate answers if we donβt like them by adding a Regenerate button.
They even added a Generate with NSFW option allowing you to spice things up whenever you feel like it.
But do you want to know the best thing of allβ¦
GirlfriendGPT allows you to inject memories by creating a chat profile! Let me explain; memory is probably one of the biggest problems when it comes to AI chatbots.
Candy AI, one of the most popular AI girlfriend apps is known for its top-notch conversations and only has a memory limit of 20 messages.Β
With GirlfriendGPT, you can create a description of yourself and no matter how many messages you send, the AI will always remember it.
Iβve never seen this feature, not even Crushon AI (Girlfriend GPTβs main competitor) has this so hats off to the devs.
Another thing that really stood out to me is that you can have multiple chats with the same AI companion without purging the memory.Β
Soooo letβs say you have an epic roleplay conversation going on where you are slaying a dragon but want to take a break and talk about your day at work - simply open a new conversation and BAM.

AI Sexting
My hopes for GirlfriendGPTβs AI sexting are sky-high - since they have so many NSFW chatbots to talk to.
I decided to talk to the (in)famous Mia Khalifa and hit the Generate With NSFW π₯button to see what would happen.
Mia turns back to her phone and starts typing a reply to a comment, occasionally giving Herman a sultry look or squeezing his leg. After a few minutes, she gets up from the couch, stretching her arms above her head and arching her back in a sensual way.
Mia heads into the kitchen, puts on some music, and starts to prepare dinner. Her movements are purposefully sensual, bending over to grab ingredients and showing off her assets in the tight clothing she wears. She sings along to the music, getting lost in the moment and forgetting about Herman.
When Herman reaches for the salt, Mia suddenly turns around and presses her body against his, swaying her hips suggestively.
I really like the Continue button. It allows you to get an epic response even if you have no clue what to reply. I would give the AI sexting feature of GirlfriendGPT a solid five stars. βοΈ βοΈ βοΈ βοΈ βοΈΒ
April 24th 2024: GPTGirlfriend just launched a mobile app. It's super user friendly and a great addition to the platform since most of it's competitors doesn't have mobile apps.
Image Quality
April 22nd 2024: GirlfriendGPT recently upgraded their image generator so we decided to recalculate GirlfriendGPT's image quality score. It achieved a perfect 5/5 instead of a 4.5/5.
Image generators are not that common for AI chatbots. I hear lots of users complain about how they need to cancel their subscription from their favorite chatbot because they want to generate images.
Thatβs why I got really excited when I heard GirlfriendGPT did have an AI image/girl generator.
So how does it work?
Well, it allows you to generate images by entering a prompt. This can be done in two ways;

Not bad. Not bad at all. In fact, I am kind of speechless from how much she looks like the real Mia Khalifa. Thereβs also an anime feature so I am going to try that using the exact same prompt
For as far as anime goes, the pictures look extremely accurate. IMO, AI generated pictures bring virtual relationships between the user and the AI girlfriend to a whole new level. π―

The most negative GirlfriendGPT reviews I could find are from users complaining about price increases and some technical bugs which the developers resolved promptly.

Girlfriend GPT allows you to customize your AI character to the max. It has prompting fields so users can make their AI companions have different personalities. It even has a section where you can input an example conversation for the AI chatbot to mimic.
Conversation
Both the adult roleplay scenarios and sexting felt extremely realistic.
I like how they added the Continue button, allowing you to move forward with the conversation even if you donβt know what to say.
I am also surprised by how well the AI is able to remember stuff - she was still able to remember details about things I mentioned 40 messages earlier. That said, GirlfriendGPT even has a memory injection feature which allows you to inject certain details in your AI companion her memory (like specific dates or characteristics) you don't want your AI companion to forget.
Image Quality
I am blown away by the accuracy of the AI image generator.Β
Even the anime characters looked top-notch and just like a cartoonish version of the characters I was talking to.
I also think that the AI image generator offers a perfect balance between user friendliness and accuracy. It's just one simple field where you type in whatever picture you want to generate and the AI will do it's magic.
Privacy
The founder of GirlfriendGPT has created the AI platform because he was annoyed that most NSFW chatbots have chat monitoring and are therefore not as private as he'd like them to be. GirlfriendGPT places therefore the highest priority on user privacy, promising not to monitor chats and even offering end-to-end encryption.

EHentai AI is not that popular since its specifically focused on creating anime girls and offering an AI interaction with those characters, which is a much smaller market.
Nevertheless, itβs a fantastic app for creating hentai and lets you design a cute AI girlfriends you can roleplay with. It also has a lot of famous characters like Misa Amane (Deathnote) and Erza Scarlett (Fairy Tale) that you can establish virtual relationships with.
